The ServiceNow Systems Discovery contractor will provide successful architecture, design and implementation of ServiceNow's solutions and serve as the lead technician for ServiceNow Discovery.
This role will develop discovery patterns, Probes, sensors and technical solutions that satisfy the business needs of the BTS organization and other departments seeking to use ServiceNow ITOM internally.
This role will work with the IT Service Management leadership, IT service owners, process owners, development teams and various service delivery groups.
This position places special emphasis on the analysis and implementation of ITIL Configuration Management and ITOM related processes.
This position works directly with business clients to understand specific business processes and business drivers and business strategy across a business unit; identifies and communicates resulting needs and opportunities for business services that can be enabled via ServiceNow, and oversees the technical development, testing and delivery of business solutions.
Primary
Responsibilities:
The ServiceNow Systems Discovery contractor role is a motivated self-starter who will use industry practices to identify and gain a detailed understanding of requirements to drive improvements in the Configuration Management processes by Discovering Devices.
They will proactively seek out strategic business opportunities to improve the accuracy of the CMDB inventory and support improvements and automation with Discovery and the ITOM suite.
Accountable for the accuracy of the Discovery Pattern's Probes and sensors, and how they fit the proposed CMDB and ITOM business process improvements and the technical solution to the business needs.
The information upon which the business justification and prioritization decisions are made.
Also accountable for communicating the business need and drivers to development groups to assure the implementation phase can fulfill the business need.
As the ServiceNow Systems Discovery contractor this role will be responsible for designing and configuring architectural solutions in the ServiceNow Discovery and may assist in ITOM suite of tools.
Solutions would be researched, alternatives presented with pros and cons of each solution.
Recommendation provided based on industry best-practices and past experience.
As the ServiceNow Discovery contractor this role will be responsible for implementing and maintaining ServiceNow Discovery Patterns, Probes and Sensors to discover devices that will interact with the CMDB and Asset Management and other Platform owners.
This role will be a key member of the overall implementation program team.
The position requires experience implementing ServiceNow Discovery Patterns, Probes, and Sensors and knowledge of ITIL process.
The candidate must be able to collaborate with other Process Leaders (Asset, Config, Change, Incident, Problem, Performance Analytics, plat form owners, etc.
) and identify cross process impacts.
This role requires a strategic thought leader that will implement high-quality solutions.
Monitor and report Services provided to internal and external customers Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
May prepare communication and training materials for Discovery of Devices and how they will be used in the CMDB or by ITOM components.
BASIC:
Bachelor's Degree preferred with emphasis in business, information systems.

year's ServiceNow experience with Discovery.
Service Mapping, Orchestration, or Cloud Management experience is also highly desired.
Experience following Systems Development Life Cycle processes Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong process development and documentation skills.
Advanced technical ServiceNow development skills.
Proven track record of effective project leadership and positive results.
