Description:
Resource 1 is seeking a Network Security Admin for a 6-month contract for hire in Wood Dale, IL.
The Security Engineer should be familiar with the day to day monitoring of an IT environment, cyber security, vulnerability management, disaster recovery, internal controls, and audit compliance.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Monitor network to identify security breaches detected by those systems; and help drive tracking, investigation, and resolution of those incidents.
Participate in daily security operations, in partnership with other Technology teams as required and appropriate.
Execute technical work to tune and improve security infrastructure operation, maintain integrity and accuracy of asset inventory, and validate technology systems meet expected configuration requirements; working in partnership with other Technology teams as appropriate.
Required Knowledge and
Experience:
5
years of overall IT experience.
3-5
years of current experience in Information Security within an Enterprise IT environment.
Prior experience with Active Directory and Windows OS security administration and architecture.
Working technical knowledge of some cross-section of common security products and toolsets (firewalls; intrusion prevention systems; web-security content management; authentication services; etc.
).
Specific technologies of interest include:
Secure Works, Iron Port, Carbon Black, SEIM, Cisco firewall, Cisco Umbrella, Microsoft Active Directory, UNIX, Linux, Encryption, Digital Certificates, SSL, VPN, IPSec, TCP/IP, DNS and web security architecture, SQL, Nmap, Nikto, Nessus, and Paros.
Prior experience with Windows Server & Desktop function and administration.
Solid understanding of IP, TCP/IP and other network administration protocols.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to conduct research into IT security issues and products as required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
