Mechanical Assembly Supervisor

Supervise mechanical assembly technicians. Is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department which includes a combination of managing others and contributing individual technical work. Will have an understanding of equipment and tools needed to execute the functions of each of the positions.
Day-to-Day Role:
Promote the Safety Culture and ensure employees understand safe work practices and the requirements of environmental regulations.
Supervise, plan, schedule, set objectives and meet production standards within the framework of policy guidelines.
Evaluate manpower, make recommendations for projected manpower needed to meet plant production goals, submit proposals for needed personnel to the manager, interview and select qualified personnel while adhering to approved structure.
Communicate with all Machinery Manufacturing departments, Engineering departments, and plant personnel pursuant to production, quality, and service goals.
Coordinate training of mechanical assembly technicians to include PC system, wiring, assembly, testing, and repair of mechanical components, assemblies, and subassemblies.
Calculate time billing, materials needed and their proportions using basic mathematics, and solving electronic equations using advanced mathematics.
Oversee and participate in the troubleshooting and analysis of problems to rapidly identify, evaluate, propose, and implement solutions.
Track jobs and materials, verify inventory, and programming.
Champion efforts to rapidly resolve quality or performance issues.
Review and approve time and attendance in accordance with team and departmental policies.
Responsible for promoting good employee relations and high morale.
Demonstrate teamwork and respect by working constructively with co-workers to achieve the best results possible.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
High school diploma
Three (3) years of demonstrated leadership in technical capabilities, involvement in problem solving teams, and mentoring of junior employees
Two (2) years of supervisory experience or in managing Dart technical projects and directing team work efforts to meet corporate, departmental, and team goals
Three (3) years of experience in assembly, testing, and qualification of mechanical equipment
Five (5) years of experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create basic reports, documents, presentations and spreadsheets in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint
Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical materials
Excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal and external customers
Ability to calculate, analyze, and interpret mathematical information such as percent differences, ratios, median, mean, weighted average, etc.
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver s license and passport
Up to 10% domestic and international travel
Associates degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Technology or related field, or 4 years equivalent work experience preferred
Five (5) years experience in assembly, testing, and qualification of mechanical equipment preferred
Three (3) years of supervisory experience with strong leadership and management skills preferred
