POSITION
Summary:
Under general supervision of the Senior Accounting Manager, responsible for the preparation of journal entries, reconciliation and maintenance of general ledger accounts, preparation of specified accounting records for month end closing, and analysis. The position will interact extensively with corporate and regional ABC functional areas as well as various suppliers.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Responsible for journal entry preparation and account reconciliations for month end closing.
Acts as liaison by coordinating general ledger accounting matters with cross-functional departments.
Responsible for preparation of various financial reports.
Analyze and investigate month over month incentive variances.
Enter customer incentive agreement maintenance into SAP.
Reconciles monthly postings to balance sheet and P&L accounts.
Interface with internal departments regarding monthly/quarterly accrual calculations.
Timely and accurate reporting of incentives in accordance with GAAP and industry practices.
Prepares trend analysis and other special analysis as required.
Assist with internal and external audit requests as needed.
Generates ad hoc accounting reports as needed.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accounting sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor's Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education; Normally requires a minimum of six (6) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Knowledge of accounting practices and principles
2. Working knowledge of accounting and planning software packages.
3. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
4. Strong interpersonal skills
5. Strong mathematical and analytical skills
6. Strong organizational skills; attention to detail
7. Proficient in Microsoft Excel
8. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
