Systems Administrator
Overview
SIG has an opening for a Systems Administrator on our Market Data team, located at our headquarters in Bala Cynwyd, PA, just minutes from Center City Philadelphia.
As a Systems Administrator at SIG, you will be responsible for supporting an infrastructure that is critical to our Market Data platforms. This team is responsible for the collection, monitoring, and storing of market data for the firm and requires the ability to multitask and troubleshoot problems as they arise. Each day will bring the opportunity to dive into scripting, systems, networking and security work within the team.
In this role, you will:
Evaluate new hardware and software options to provide a more stable runtime environment for our market data platforms and services
Design and develop new tools to help manage and monitor our market data infrastructure solutions
Support projects to deliver new services and solutions for the market data team as a whole
Partner closely with the market data software developer teams in support of our in-house applications
Maintain and monitor market data infrastructure platforms
Gain an understanding of the various market data products at SIG and will work to diagnose problems within those products
Collaborate with other Enterprise technology/business teams to provide a strong and transparent service across the board
What we're looking for
1-3 years of experience in a systems administration, engineering or similar role required
Exposure to Linux operating systems
Knowledge of Perl, Python, or similar scripting languages required
Experience working with and/or knowledge of the SQL database platform required
Demonstrated knowledge of LAN/WAN, IP technologies required
