Senior Manager, Alliance Management

This position will ensure the proactive management and smooth functioning of alliances and collaborations. You will work with the partner companies to establish and maintain the strategy, cultural alignment, direction and scope for implementation and maintenance of our collaborative agreements, including defining key activities and their respective timelines, and assigning responsibilities between the partners. You will also take the lead on issues and risks (typically cross-functional) requiring alliance consensus or decision, including gaining internal company consensus by involving key players and ensuring speedy and appropriate decisions.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. Assist in the design, management and execution of a successful alliance launch, relaunch and/or wind-down of the relationship. Manage the alliance governance activities. Ensure appropriate periodic meetings with partners to facilitate the exchange of information are scheduled and that the teams complete agendas, presentations, minutes, and action item lists. As needed, follow-up internally and with the collaborator afterward to ensure that action items are being executed as agreed
2. Liaise with internal departments including but not limited to Finance, Commercial, Legal, Preclinical, Clinical, Manufacturing and Business Development to identify alliance business issues and risks that may arise during the product's development and/or commercial life and assist as needed to manage both the risks and resolution of issues. On-board and train new internal members of alliance(s). Ensure internal individuals understand the policies and guidelines of working with the alliance collaborator
3. Manage long term relationships between the company and collaborators by demonstrating diplomacy skills and a high level of trust within both organizations. Form internal relationships with respective functions and individuals within the company to ensure smooth operations of the alliance
4. As needed, manage the resolution of operational conflicts including the analysis and modeling of alternative approaches to solve issues. Facilitate the clear communication and resolution of ongoing business issues and risks relating to the alliances
5. Understand alliance deal structure and obligations, and ensure compliance of assigned obligations. Participate in contract renegotiations, contract amendments and letter agreements.
6. Monitor and manage metrics and measurements for assigned alliances to ensure the maximum value of the alliance is realized Job Qualifications BS/BA or equivalent minimum, 8
years of Life Science industry experience; 4
years in areas of Clinical Project or Program Management or Alliance Management
Knowledge of Oncology Clinical Development, Commercialization, Business Development Negotiations and/or Contracting is a plus
Builds strong and sustainable relationships internally and externally, and interacts within all levels of the organizations as required
Ability to manage and/or resolve issues, risks and potential conflicts both internally and externally in a timely manner
Ability to communicate ideas and data both verbally and written in a persuasive and appropriate manner
Ability to translate complex contract terms and conditions into strategic and operational elements for both the internal and external parties
Comfortable analyzing market trends, modeling potential business solutions, interpreting market research, and reviewing technical data
Uses tact and diplomacy in interacting with people from different cultures and at all levels of the organization
Self-driven individual able to function with minimum supervision
Proven leadership skills
Proficient with MS Office products, SharePoint and other technology tools
