Certified Medical Assistant

Certified Medical Assistants perform administrative and clinical tasks to keep the practice running smoothly. These administrative duties are under direction of the practice manager. All clinical duties are under the immediate direction of the provider (physicians and midlevels) and/or under the supervision of a licensed nurse. When performing administrative duties, the Certified Medical Assistant may update and file patients' medical records, fill out insurance forms, arrange for hospital admissions and laboratory services, answer telephones, greet patients, handle correspondence, schedule appointments, contact customers for customer satisfaction reports (PCA) and handle billing and bookkeeping. When performing clinical duties, the medical assistant may take medical histories, record vital signs, explain treatment procedures to patients, prepare patients for examinations, assist physicians during examinations, remove sutures and change dressings. Certified Medical Assistants collect and prepare laboratory specimens and sometimes perform basic in office, CLIA waived, laboratory tests. They may also arrange examining room instruments and equipment, order and maintain supplies and equipment, and keep waiting and examining rooms neat and clean. Facilitate the same day access for ALL patients requesting to be treated by provider. Education:
Completion of a formal medical assisting program (MA or CMA)
Experience:
2 years medical practice experience as a certified medical assistant preferred
Licenses/Certificates
Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited certification agency required
American Heart Association BLS Provider CPR certification required

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
