Summary:
The Dryer Operator position is responsible for ensuring that all products are blended and dried per the correct specification while meeting and exceeding all safety, quality, and efficiency standards. This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in a manufacturing environment. However, the main essential job functions include: loading and unloading raw materials into automatic dryers and manually dumping product directly onto feed conveyors; must be able to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs.
Job Functions:
Communicate and understand Production schedule.
Operate drying equipment with manual controls, make adjustments to drying times and perform line changeovers as required.
Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
Ensure that the products are safe and meet the customer specifications.
Communicate quality issues of raw product to the appropriate personnel.
Responsible for monitoring packaging lines in order to ensure correct quantities are produced without overruns.
Communicate mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
Ensure that product is properly mixed in the hoppers.
Ensure that proper blend ratios are achieved.
Responsible for the proper and accurate completion of any documentation.
Follow and complete the daily production schedule, including changes that may occur during the course of the shift.
Responsible for meeting machine efficiency and effectiveness which is measured in downtime percentage, bags per minute and dryer deck process failures.
Able to meet daily production standards.
Operate cutting equipment when required.
Perform daily dryer inspection at the start of and through out the shift.
Perform hoist inspections at the start of the shift.
Wear all required PPE while on the production floor.
Handling product that may have a temperature of 32-36 degrees Fahrenheit.
Responsible for counting and keeping track of product dumped into the hoppers.
Safely operate hoists, dryers, and dumping machines.
Transferring filled baskets of product in and out of dryers.
In-depth understanding of the ZLC loss code matrix as it relates to dryer deck loses
Perform other duties (such as basic housekeeping) as assigned.
