Description and Responsibilities
We are currently searching for a Hayssen Machine Operator for our plant which has bulk manufacturing, blending, conveyor, filling, labeling, and packaging processes. The Hayssen Machine Operator is responsible for performing duties to set-up and operate food pouching, labeling, and packaging equipment as is consistent with specifications. 2nd shift hours are Monday through Thursday from 2:45 PM - 1:15 AM.
Major responsibilities are as follows:
Set-up, adjust, and operate vertical form, fill, and seal equipment.
Set-up, adjust, and operate labeling and packaging equipment.
Load and unload roll fed packaging film and other materials.
Monitor equipment to ensure that is operating correctly and at the appropriate speeds.
Ensure products produced meet specifications and perform minor adjustments as needed.
Perform changeovers and basic machine maintenance.
Ensure adequate supply of packaging and other materials
Maintain accurate production and downtime records.
Report food safety problems and notify supervisor of unusual problems, delays, and/or safety issues.
Follow SOP's, GMP's safety rules, sanitation rules, and good housekeeping procedures.
Use instructions, hand tools, gauges, and testing instruments.
Participate in cycle counting and annual inventory counts.
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have prior experience within a food, beverage, ingredients, filling, canning, and/or packaging environment. Must have 1 3 years of working knowledge on Hayssen form, fill, and seal packaging equipment. Additional experience with wrappers, carton erectors, automatic case packers, in-line scales, metal detectors, and X-ray units is desirable. Ability to work in a standing position and lift or move up to 55 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation is required. Basic mechanical aptitude is essential. High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Must be able to operate controls, ready English, and complete forms.
