Responsibilities
Gannett Fleming's Marlton, New Jersey office is looking for an Experienced Bridge Professional to lead and/or participate in project management activities and the ability to communicate and work across multiple operational groups and technical disciplines in the Northeast Region and management of projects across both public and private sectors.
The primary duties of the Senior Bridge Engineer include leading tasks in the support of planning, directing and monitoring all aspects of small to large scale multi-discipline bridge projects of varying technical complexity, involving a diverse project staff. Successful candidate will have demonstrated extensive professional experience in structural engineering, specific to bridge design. Projects include participation in a wide variety of bridge and highway structure related assignments ranging from simple highway grade crossings bridges to complex bridge designs.
Perform and check bridge design and analysis computations
Prepare construction plans for bridges and other transportation related structures using MicroStation.
Develop contract documents such as specifications and review of construction documents such as shop drawings or contractor requests
Perform bridge load ratings
CBQualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Masters Preferred. PE required.
8-12
years of bridge related design experience, participating and/or managing a bridge design project with knowledge of public sector/municipal clients in the New Jersey area.
Candidate should be well versed in the use of the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
3D Modeling experience working with STAAD, CSiBridge or other comparable software
Demonstrated success in managing preliminary and final design, preparation of construction documents, specifications, cost estimates, project scheduling and subcontractor management.
Candidate would need to be a technical mentor to a team of design engineers, thereby managing a design team.
Strong familiarity with NJDOT, NJ Turnpike standards, policies, and procedures is required.
Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication both written and verbal skills.
Track record of successfully completing projects and task leadership.
