Electrical Engineer

Overview
This position reports to the Detection Engineering Manager for Portable Instruments and will be a hands-on contributor. This position will be responsible for complex electronic hardware and embedded firmware design.
Responsibilities
Apply all basic and some specialized knowledge of instrument design engineering.
Assume technical leadership of hardware and embedded firmware development within a project. This may also include supervision or work direction to engineers or technicians.
Hands-on participation on cross-functional project teams in the development of new industrial products. The job will include any necessary tasks, including documentation and validation of final product designs.
Integration of electronic designs with firmware, mechanical, test and manufacturing capabilities in order to ensure successful products are delivered on time while meeting agreed upon product performance specifications.
Maximum of 15% domestic/international travel is required.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in digital and analog circuit board design and layout Low power electronics design experience including small signal circuits as found in sensory instrumentation Strong hands-on experience with simulation and design development tools (Code Composer, MPLAB, LabVIEW, SPICE, Altium Designer, etc) Demonstrated ability of RFI/EMI shielding and CE design requirements Strong proficiency with battery systems and charging technologies Proficient use of digital signal processing Programming of automated data acquisition hardware experience Experience with statistical tools and risk analysis (i.e. FMEA, DFSS)
Preferred:
Experience with industrial instrumentation Experience with communication protocols and instrumentation networks (Bluetooth, wireless, ethernet) Design experience with intrinsically safe circuitry Excellent written, presentation, and verbal skills.
Education and experience required:
BSEE or related degree, preferably from an ABET accredited program.
This position is available at three different career levels depending on experience, education, etc:
o Level one(Staff III):
At least 3 years minimum relevant experience o Level two (Senior):
At least 5 years minimum relevant experience o Level three (Principal):
At least 7 years minimum relevant experience o MS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of relevant experience
Preferred:
MSEE is a strong plus

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
