Associate Director Social Services

Overview
The Associate Director of Social Services at the Stapleton Corps will work to develop partnerships with other social service agencies, churches and other not-for-profits across Staten Island while strategically utilizing those relationships to cultivate comprehensive, individualistic plans of recovery and healing for the families being served through the Social Ministries of The Stapleton Corps.
Responsibilities
Work to achieve the vision for Social Services put forth by the Corps Officer.
Oversee and grow the Pathway of Hope Program in line with divisional, territorial and national guidelines.
Cultivate partnerships with other social service providers, churches, and other not-for-profits across Staten Island that offer services that could assist clients being served.
Refer Social Service Clients to appropriate programs provided by community partners.
Performs and oversees casework duties, which could include but is not limited to meeting with clients seeking agency services, conducting intake and assessments, brief counseling, and information and referral
Develops comprehensive service plans and make periodic reports to supervisor on the progress of each case.
Carries a caseload and performs record keeping functions such as detailed progress notes, and census statistical reports.
Maintains all records with strict confidentiality and ensures any subordinate staff do likewise.
Attends, participates in and leads staff meetings as requested by the Corps Officer.
Implements and oversees Pathway of Hope
Attend training sessions and workshops around the NYC area as requested by Corps Officer or DHQ/THQ
Create process for measuring impact of personalized plans created for clients and measure each case at least two times per year.
Prepares workshops and other educations opportunities for clients based upon the needs of clients and the community.
Works closely with other staff at the Stapleton Corps.
Review and determines approval for various forms of support (clothing vouchers, rent assistance etc.) based upon budget provisions.
Oversee the Pantry Aide. Including:
scheduling, payroll input, disciplinary actions, etc)
Oversee the Social Ministries Assistant Including:
scheduling, payroll input, disciplinary actions, etc)
Recruits, trains, and oversees all volunteers for Social Services department.
Prepares yearly budget items for the Social Services Department and ensures expenditures fall within the budget after approval by the Corps Officer.
Develops and plans activities to engage the community in the Salvation Army via increased use of Social Services.
Develop fundraising strategy for the necessary program costs associated with the Social Services department and larger corps ministry as requested by the Corps Officer.
Prepare advertisement materials for all Social Services programs.
Consistently reports to work on time and is ready to begin work at the start of the shift.
Demonstrates reliability when on-call.
Available to work overtime when necessary (only non-exempt employees).
Demonstrates the ability to recognize priorities in organization of workflow. Able to perform duties independently, with minimal need of direct supervision.
Maintains the confidentiality of clients, shelter/program, agency and/or The Salvation Army.
Demonstrates the ability to interact in a positive and helpful manner with clients, visitors, other staff, volunteers, and co-workers.
Reflects commitment to building a supportive work environment and maintains a positive attitude at the workplace and towards job.
Projects a good image in dealing with the public and clients.
Is willing to make an extra effort to help build a quality case management system.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience and knowledge working with underserved populations on Staten Island or the surrounding boroughs, which include children and families.
Master's Degree in a social services field required.
At least 10 years of experience in social services field (preferably both within The Salvation Army and outside)
2-3 years of managerial experience preferred.
2-3 Years of Case management or counseling experience preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
