The National Account Director, Trade Channel & Distribution is responsible for the overall business management of our largest distributor and enterprise accounts that provides product and services to downstream customers such as hospitals, clinics, specialty and retail pharmacies. The individual develops and identifies emerging distribution trends and specific needs for the total Janssen portfolio of $10B per account. This individual creates and executes the distribution strategy and lifecycle management plan for future portfolio, new product launches and mature assets. This individual develops innovative and channel-specific branded and non-branded initiatives to advance the Janssen portfolio. This individual also establishes and maintains strategic relationships with key channel customers and associations. This individual reports to the Director of Channel Strategy & Distribution and supports that individual on partnerships with JOM and multiple other strategic projects as identified.
Key Areas of Focus:
Leads distribution strategy and execution for national distributors in US.
Applies channel and marketplace knowledge including trends, stakeholder information to develop and execute strategic business plans for these large enterprise accounts.
Establish and maintains strategic relationships with Distributors, managing all aspects of accounts including supply chain from JOM to downstream customers.
Accountable for DOS forecasting and execution for enterprise, supply chain efficiencies and COGS initiatives (serialization, etc).
Shape the partnership between JOM, SCG and Customers to drive better integration and forecasting.
Leads cross-functional Account Team and actively collaborates to achieve channel goals.
Accountable for new Product Launch strategy development and execution, as well as lifecycle management across Janssen portfolio.
Leads contract development and negotiations through all major stages, including ensuring that contracts appropriately balance J&J and stakeholder risks and interests.
Balances innovative approaches with business strategy and legal risk when developing contracts and other customer-focused solutions.
Applies an understanding of value-based healthcare economics, payment and delivery models, and the roles of the payor, provider and patients in reimbursement decisions and how they impact marketing, contract, and pricing strategies.
Serve as key conduit of all strategic communication between Janssen executive leadership and Distribution Channel partners.
Collaborates and partners across Janssen, JJHCS, and other J&J operating companies and functional areas.
Leadership Responsibilities Include:
Influence and impact up to Vice President level on distribution strategies.
Provides analytics guidance and support, including defining analysis plans and synthesizing analytic findings to share insights that improve understanding and uncover new opportunities.
Champions change efforts, manages change, and coaches others to embrace and quickly adapt to change.
Leads the delivery and creation of innovative and tailored communications and presentations that educate and mobilize critical stakeholders.
The position is a key interface between Janssen SCG, customers, brands, and brands related to distribution strategy and marketplace changes. The position also works across key functional areas (Contracting, Supply Chain, JOM, Brand Marketing, Access Services, Finance, Legal, and others) as needed. Due to the dynamic nature of the marketplace and the matrix structure within which the position operates, a high level of external and multiple J&J company, senior-level interactions are common.
This position is a field based and requires significant travel (up to 40% if candidate resides in Titusville, NJ or Horsham, PA or up to 50% if candidate resides anywhere else in the US) this includes meetings and trainings, overnight and possibly weekends.
Minimum of Bachelor's degree is required.
5 years or more years of healthcare industry experience required.
Successful and consistent track record of achieving results required.
Participation in strategy development and planning and in creating, evaluating and defending business cases required.
Work experience in decentralized and cross-functional business models preferred.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate at various levels in the organization required.
Ability to communicate effectively with others and defend logical business arguments, including reaching a consensus of opinion when required.
Experience in influencing an external-facing team preferred.
Experience in managing projects and influencing senior management and peers required.
A working knowledge of how product flows through the healthcare system is required.
Large and small molecule experience is preferred.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license issued in the United States and must successfully complete a background investigation, to include a review of your driving record history.
This position requires extensive travel, up to 50%, based on the current location.
