Summary:
The Environmental Services Aide is Responsible for the cleanliness and disinfection of all patient areas, common spaces, public restrooms, waiting rooms, clinical and testing areas, etc.
Responsibilities:
Selects cleaning materials and supplies.
Prepares chemicals according to procedures.
Loads cart and transports to work area.
Cleans assigned areas by washing patient room, furniture, tile, fixtures, and equipment with germicidal cleaning solution in accordance with department policy.
Cleaning includes but is not limited to high touch areas such as door knobs, handrails, telephone, wall plates, light switch, light pull cord, housing on mirrors, walls, doors, ceilings, vents, television and windows.
Sweeps and mops floors, vacuum carpets, spot clean carpets and arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
Request cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
May operate cleaning equipment - both mechanical and electrical.
Cleans equipment after use and notifies manager of needed repairs.
Reports safety hazards to manager.
Cleans carts and equipment and ensures all are returned in an orderly, neat manner.
May climb ladder to repair or replace cubicle curtains;
Collects waste, may collect hazardous waste as established by policy;
Cleans isolation rooms during stay and discharge.
Employee will work using protocols designed for maximum efficiency and cleanliness following infection control guidelines to provide a safe, sanitized space for our patients to heal.
Qualifications:
Prospective employee must possess strong customer service skills and be able to communicate in a clear, concise manner.
The applicant represents the hospital and must portray and neat, clean appearance.
Employer is willing to train the right applicant.
