Wipfli is currently seeking a Senior Accountant for our Philadelphia or Media Office. This individual will primarily provide accounting outsourcing services and other ad hoc accounting project work as requested.
Responsibilities
Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner
Prepare client correspondence, letters, e-mail, or other communications pertaining to engagement issues
Adhere to prescribed budgets and deadlines
Provide accounting services at varying levels to our middle market clients as requested. These services are often required due to staff shortages at clients or unusual project requirements at clients and may be short term in nature. Projects are also often requested of new ownership to convert financial statements and systems to those required by new leadership. Projects can also be ongoing outsourcing for clients who prefer to outsource their accounting function rather than hire full time staff.
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor Degree in Accounting
Requires a minimum 4-6 years of job related experience that includes hands on assistant controllership or controllership experience in a variety of environments. Past experience providing outsourcing to many clients at one time would be helpful.
Ability to travel to client locations
Familiarity with common accounting software packages, including as a base line QuickBooks
Ability to work unsupervised. Many of these projects are not done in a team rather the Wipfli associate embeds in the client for a period of time or periodically (one day per week 3-4 per month as necessary and agreed with client)
Depending on the candidate this job may be suitable for someone with more experience who may prefer to not participate in some of the non-accounting tasks typically associated with a partner track CPA such as business development, firm management and staff development.
Requires a valid driver's license

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
