Primary Responsibilities
Service Management
Manage daily flow of merchandise from DC to retail stores; ensuring timely, accurate and efficient delivery of all merchandise at the lowest sustainable cost
Lead on-site dedicated carrier in all areas of service, cost and execution
Manage all one-way carrier movements to ensure highest level of service at the lowest cost
Work with shipping departments on load quality processes or issues to ensure all shipping standards are met
Continuous analysis of, and improving department processes and procedures
Facilitate resolution of all delivery related issues at retail stores and vendors
Responsible to deliver on-time service goal to retail stores
Communication to Stores
Support New store openings or Closing stores
Manage Dedicated and Common Carriers
Identify asset and financial opportunities for regional carrier use
Manage Pick Schedule
Assist in delivering inbound service goals
Assist the DC in delivering service level goals.
Financial Management
Deliver or exceed DC outbound transportation budget as a rate of sales; ensure that transportation budgetary goals are aligned with DC budgetary goals
Deliver Network outbound transportation budget as a rate of sales
Directly responsible for the financial analysis of outbound transportation operations to identify cost savings opportunities
Provide weekly and period forecasts of transportation costs to transportation finance
Provide accurate forecasts for quarter and year end
Manage pick schedule
Manage Detention Charges inbound and outbound
Review and validate dedicated and common carrier invoices
Manage the purchase and rental of storage trailers
Provide weekly backhaul report to transportation finance - confirm credits on backhauls and validate invoices
Provide weekly reconciliation of corporate refill and ACD
Improve dedicated fleet utilization through backhaul utilization and returns management
Identify opportunities for 3rd party backhaul revenue
Work with inbound transportation on cube and service opportunities
Identify and align backhauls with returns pickups
Daily review of routing optimization and carrier selection to ensure lowest cost solution
Asset Management
Improve Dedicated Fleet Utilization
Manage asset pools Execute Network Initiatives
Pick schedule management
Review and Revise Delivery Days and No Later Times
Cube Improvements
Asset Utilization
Direct responsibility for daily and tactical use of dedicated carrier's TMS

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
