Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant
The Subacute unit at Northwest Hospital is a 39-bed unit with a variety of patients requiring skilled nursing care to include physical, occupation and speech therapy, and nutritional services, as well as wound and joint care. This unit is also an overflow area for hospice. The unit is equipped with continuous passive motion (CPM) machines, trapeze bars and other equipment to allow for maximum patient independence. Staff members on this unit must be positive, compassionate, motivated and dedicated to helping others in need.

Summary:
Provides safe, age-appropriate patient care, assisting with Activities of Daily Living while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Requirements:
Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma or GED equivalent; Less than one year experience; Communication devices; Synquest and basic computer skills; Hoyer lift and specialty beds; Basic medical equipment (scale, thermometer, etc.); Certified Nursing Assistant required; CPR/First Aide; Geriatric Nursing Assistant - preferred.
