Description The Wyandotte Thermoplastic Polyurethane Technician position is responsible for the following:
Perform all shipping and receiving tasks associated with packaging of finished goods. Perform fork truck duties. Operate extruders, feeders, and other equipment associated with the production of TPU. Demonstrate safe and efficient performance of daily tasks ensuring adherence to all Responsible Care, and site and plant standards. Operate plant equipment in a manner and condition to safely produce quality product. Maintain housekeeping at an excellent level. Perform equipment, safety, and other required checks in an accurate, neat, and timely manner. Effectively participate in creation of JSA s, 6S and all lean initiatives. Contribute to the success of plant goals and objectives through participation on EHS and/or team activities to further advance the qualities of a High Performance Organization. Work 12 hour rotating shift.Contribute to the success of plant goals & objectives through participation in activities to further advance safety, quality, costs, productivity and morale throughout the plant. Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent High School diploma or equivalent education Fork truck license Demonstrated Experience in:
Safety is first priority mindset Willingness and ability to create and adapt to change Competencies of accountability and ownership Meet or exceed standard for attendance Ability to learn and perform a variety of tasks in support of plant operations Flexibility in changing own and others work priorities as short notice Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Coordination with people and teams within unit and beyond unit; good team player Assists in helping others complete tasks while effectively completing own tasks Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills 1-4 years in a production environment Demonstrated proficiency in plant work Effective time management and organizational skills to efficiently manage daily activities General knowledge of handling both manual and automatic controls Demonstrated strong end-user computer skills including SAP transactions Strong math skills Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot systems and identify likely problems. Mature dependable judgment when dealing with others. Exhibits good judgment in asking for help.
