THE PURPOSE:
The position offers a unique opportunity to learn the various functions of our accounting team through a rotational program. The position was designed for in growth minded individual who is seeking a CPA, is a CPA candidate, or desires a broader understanding of the accounting function. The position will cover, among other areas, general, international, inventory, direct to consumer and consolidation accounting.
THE ROLE (what you are accountable for)
General Accounting
Prepares monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
Assist with cash, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets
Assist the treasurer with monitoring and posting banking activity
International
Prepares International transfer pricing journal entries and invoicing
Prepare monthly account reconciliations
Analyze international subsidiaries financial statements to ensure proper accounting.
Assist with quarterly international audits, taxes, and board of director's presentation
Inventory
Prepare monthly inventory journal entries and reconciliations
Assesses monthly inventory, cost of sales and gross margin trends
Assist with monthly inventory reserve calculation
Assist with annual and ad hoc inventory counts.
Direct to consumer
Prepares monthly direct to consumer journal entries and account reconciliations
Process timely submission for business license applications and payments
Process monthly rent payments and sales reporting to landlords
Analyze lease contracts and retail expenses ensure proper accounting
Financial Reporting/Consolidation:
Prepares and reviews monthly global consolidation
Prepares monthly management reporting package and supplements
Assist with managing all external and internal audits and reviews
Assists with the coordination and monitoring all US federal, state, and foreign tax filings, notices, or provision work with third party preparers.
Other
Assist management with other tasks or assignments, ad-hoc projects, and reporting, as necessary
Position will have the opportunity to recommend process changes that will improve accounting, controls and efficiency although will not be allowed to implement such change until approved by management.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Education and Certifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Experience and Skills
Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task and manage several projects or tasks simultaneously
Proficient with Excel, Word and Outlook
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
Positive working relationships with internal and external parties (auditors, attorneys)
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Retail and wholesale accounting experience
