Maintenance Technician II

GENERAL
Summary: This position is responsible for all equipment Preventative Maintenance (PM's) and repairs to forklifts, conveyors, associated DC equipment, general maintenance of the DC, and the ability to perform all lower level technician duties. Identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical failures. This position requires the ability to effectively troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical controls. This position is responsible for completing equipment moves and new equipment installations including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulics. Safely operate warehouse equipment and machinery. Knowledge of the assigned DC technology and process flow. Provide technical training to Technician Assistant's and Technician I's. Work within safety guidelines and under the guidance of the maintenance supervisor. Willing to work any and all shifts including weekends and overtime.
2nd Shift- Tuesday-Friday 4pm-2am
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
Able to perform all duties associated with lower level technician positions
Able to perform all duties associated with lower level technician positions
Ability to conduct routine repairs/tasks with shop equipment: band saw, Arc and Mig welders, Torch, Install copper tubing, Hydraulic press; drill press; grinder
Perform conveyor maintenance tasks:
Critical preventative and predictive maintenance
Motor and speed reducer rebuilds
ID, research, and cross-reference parts
Ability to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot complex sortation systems
Perform forklift maintenance tasks:
Critical preventative and predictive maintenance
Drive unit and component rebuilds
ID, research, and cross-reference parts
Ability to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot forklift components and systems
Perform associated maintenance tasks on 3-phase electrical systems under 600 volts (to include all subsystems):
Critical preventative and predictive maintenance
ID, research, and cross-reference parts
Ability to troubleshoot, repair/replace system components
Perform advanced conveyor system controls maintenance:
Proper use of electrical PPE and tools
Size and install electrical circuits
Troubleshooting to include use of wiring diagrams; ability to interrupt relay logic
PLC basic understanding of ladder logic and navigation of software to troubleshoot
Perform general plumbing tasks
Lead special projects
Communicate with fellow workers on a technical level
Must remain proficient in all the maintenance areas required at our facility
Able to operate all maintenance tools to include forklifts and lift equipment
REQUIRED
Qualifications:
1) Knowledge, skills & abilities:
Must be able to demonstrate electrical knowledge understanding electrical prints; troubleshooting; safe practices
Strong written and oral communication skills
Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times
2) Minimum
Experience:
2 years of practical experience as a maintenance technician I is preferred
