Design Engineer
Job Description
Position Overview:
Molex is seeking a Design Engineer to join our team! This role is responsible for the design and development of new products and modification of existing products. You'll design products involving injection-molded, screw-machined, and die cast parts. You will also assist support personnel, technicians, and suppliers in the development and testing of prototypes, documenting design, and formulation of test procedures, as well as provide support to manufacturing process engineers to develop manufacturing support documentation, fixtures and procedures. Will also coordinate projects with our Mexico facility.
The person in this role would work in Lincolnshire for the first few months and then would be based out of Lisle.
Position Qualifications
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
5
years engineering experience in the design of electrical or electro-mechanical products
2
year of experience in documentation release and maintenance, including revision control and data management.
2
year of experience Engineering Change Notice procedures.
2
year of Solid Modeling experience (Pro-E or Solidworks or NX or Inventor) required.
2
year of AutoCad experience needed.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Connector design experience highly desirable.
Injection molding experience highly desirable.
Skills and Abilities:
Good customer interface skills.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Good problem solving skills.
ERP/ MRP system knowledge desirable.
Good customer interface skills.
Strong knowledge and understanding of product development and engineering design principles including mechanical design for injection molded, screw-machined, or die-cast components.
Proficient with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
