Summary:
The Store Detective Multi-Unit (known as Market Investigators at CVS Pharmacy) assists in the safety and protection of company assets within an assigned group of CVS Pharmacy stores; assets include customers, employees, merchandise, and store property. Market Investigators must become familiar with CVS Pharmacy policy, local criminal law; covert surveillance principles, covert customer service methods and digital video surveillance systems. Market Investigators communicate closely with Senior Market Investigators, Asset Protection Managers, Store Management, District Sales Managers, Regional Loss Prevention Managers, and Organized Retail Crime Field Managers. Market Investigators report directly to a Senior Market Investigator, who reports to the Asset Protection Manager, who reports to the Area Loss Prevention Director. Market Investigators operate as plainclothes, undercover members of the LP team.
Job Description:
Monitors assigned stores for activity that threatens the safety of employees and customers.
Monitors assigned stores for activity that causes the loss of CVS Pharmacy assets.
Observes activity by walking the store and using store digital surveillance systems; responds to and reports issues that arise.
Safely conducts no-force apprehensions of suspects when circumstances fall within CVS Pharmacy Policy.
Safely conducts recovery of merchandise and/or property when circumstances do not allow for an apprehension.
Exercises sound judgment when making decisions; safeguard sensitive, confidential information.
Accurately writes and files professional incident reports of apprehension, significant events, and weekly activities.
Communicates clearly and timely to all levels of management within assigned stores to maintain clear knowledge of activities.
Communicates clearly and professionally with local law enforcement and prosecutors to better aid the arrest and prosecution of suspects conducting criminal activities.
Appear and testifies on behalf of CVS Pharmacy in court cases involving defendants arrested for conducting criminal activities.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
