Job Summary
Mixer Truck Drivers are responsible for the loading and delivery of ready mix concrete and other associated products to construction job sites in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures the timely and accurate delivery of concrete.
Performs thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections; Checks vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment is in good working order and meets DOT regulations; Obtains or schedules required repairs.
Loads truck with ready mix concrete according to prescribed procedures, including charging hopper and checking slump.
Discharge concrete, involving removing extension chutes, placing on main chute, driving in and out of areas with heavy pedestrian traffic and various construction obstacles.
Wash residual concrete from truck.
Maintains safe operation and clean appearance by complying with organization operational policies, procedures, and standards, as well as state and local driving rules and regulations; cleans truck exterior and interior.
Maintains delivery, truck, and driving records by obtaining receipt acknowledgments; recording tracking information; completing driver log and truck performance forms.
Other duties assigned as needed.
Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age (for insurance purposes)
Monday-Saturday availability
Documentation
Valid CDL Class A or B driver's license
Valid DOT medical card
Experience
Minimum 1 year experience driving mixer trucks
Must be able to drive automatic and manual trucks
Safe Driving History
No serious violations in the past 5 years, including, but not limited to:
Drug or alcohol charges (including DUI/DWI)
Hit and run
Failure to report an accident
Operating a motor vehicle during a period of license suspension or revocation
Reckless driving
Number of driving violations for past 3 years must be 2 or less.
