Position
Summary:
You will be part of an in-house fleet supporting Novelis out of Oswego, NY who is a world leader in rolled aluminum products delivering unique solutions for the most demanding global applications, such as beverage cans, automobiles, architecture and consumer electronics. Freight type includes aluminum coils and palletized scrap. Drivers will deliver to multiple customer locations, and will be required to unsecure freight being delivered as well as secure freight being loaded. Drivers are home daily. This is a 24/7 operation and dispatch days and times will vary depending on what is available upon your start date. We are currently in the process of building a new terminal/maintenance facility.
Equipment:
All new 2015 Freightliner manual trucks
Compensation Package:
$60k annual W2 potential ($1,150 weekly) with a $3000 sign-on/retention bonus the first year
All miles paid plus paid stops, lay-overs and delays
$0.43 cents a mile (approximately 460 miles per day), $0.45 per mile after 1 year of service
Paid stops at $15.00 each (3 per day)
Paid delays at $16.25 per hour (compensable after 1 hour at any stop)
Stops requiring touch freight at $25.00 each
$19.50 after the first hour paid at all stops requiring touch freight
Monthly performance bonuses (up to $150 per quarter)
There is a $30/weekend day incentive (if you were to work both weekend days it would be an additional $60/week.)
$19.50 hourly pay (training, meetings, yard work, etc.)
7 PTO days during first year of service and 12 PTO days after one year of service
$25 Gift Card for clean roadside inspections
Responsibilities:
Safe and responsible operation of assigned equipment.
Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage before and after route.
Primary interface with the customer at point of delivery.

CDL Class A license required
2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience in the last 5 years
3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations/accidents
Reliable and customer oriented
Safety oriented
Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
