We are seeking a Plant Accountant at our Packaging Facility in Madera, CA. Madera is located in the San Joaquin valley just outside of Fresno, CA which is California's 5th largest city and conveniently situated between the Sierra National Forest and the Pacific Ocean. A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
The Plant Accountant candidate must be able to able to work across departments and lead the monthly financial closing process, ensure proper internal controls are in place and working as designed, and support management with proactive financial analysis that drives improvement in results. Fiduciary
Responsibilities:
Internal financial control responsibility
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations
Inventory Management
Month-end close process
Forecasting and Monthly Ad Hoc Reporting
Plant transactional systems oversight
Oversight of Invoicing, A/R and A/P
Records management
What You Will Need:
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance or Business
Basic
Qualifications:
Basic understanding of a General Ledger and Cost Accounting principles
Conceptual understanding of the design and purpose of internal controls
Aptitude and desire for learning new systems and improving processes through automation
Prior experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel spreadsheet creation/editing, pivot tables, data manipulation/analysis and formula creation etc., Access-query, and PowerPoint presentation creation/editing)
Knowledge Skills Abilities:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Highly motivated, proactive, willingness to engage and partner
Strong customer focus with analytical, financial and economic thinking skills
Detail oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
Flexible and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
Aptitude and desire for learning new systems and improving processes through automation

What Will Put You Ahead
Preferred
Qualifications:
Accounting Coursework that includes Intermediate Accounting and Cost Accounting
Minimum 3.0 GPA in Accounting Coursework
At least two years of accounting or financial analysis experience
SAP, Infinium, Infor or large ERP experience preferred
Standard Costing experience
Inventory management experience
Experience as an Accountant or Analyst in a manufacturing environment
Experience providing timely information and service to internal business customers
Public Accounting, Large Company Corporate Accounting or Manufacturing Environment preferred
