ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN I - telemetry

RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION The Electronics Technician will operate and maintain Mission Control Rooms (MCRs) at Ridley Mission Control Center (RMCC) during Real Time Flight Test. Each control room consists of servers, workstations, and telemetry equipment networked together with an enterprise level CISCO switch (6509-E). The servers consists of Dell Power Edge servers that provide DHCP, DNS, Citrix Provisioning Services, and telemetry processing/recording. The workstations are diskless Dell Precision computers with dual monitors that display an Interactive Analysis Display System (IADS) which enables flight test engineers to monitor mission data at near real time. Additional experience and duties include but not limit to:
Experience/familiarity with the components of a computer system (PSU, CPU, volatile, non-volatile memory). Performing Corrective and Preventive Maintenance Procedures on all necessary equipment. Assists in creation of Operating Instructions related to telemetry processing and related equipment. Assists with installation of computer and telemetry processing related equipment, and refurbishing of telemetry processing facilities, i.e., MCR and facilities supporting MCRs. An outstanding candidate will possess knowledge of and/or certification in LAN or VLAN architectures. Operate test equipment to include oscilloscope, Fire BERT 6000, and Telemetry Decom Processor (TDP). Operate and configure Type one IP based decrypters. Work with and provide customer service to a variety of customers to include flight test engineers, data production analysts, and range control officers. The successful candidate could potentially work long hours (overtime), odd hours (very early mornings, or late evenings), and some weekends, in a high pressure, dynamic environment. Effective communication, both verbal and written, is a necessity in this job. There is a great deal of technical documentation associated with this work, and a candidate who can help us maintain such documentation has an advantage in the selection process. REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE - Education and/or training in electronics from an accredited college, technical school, or equivalent military training is required. Basic knowledge of college math, DC and AC electronics, digital logic, solid-state devices, and circuits is required. Basic understanding of general electronics and familiarity with electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems along with test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment is necessary. Successful candidates will have basic troubleshooting and soldering skills. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security clearance.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
