Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Education and within established agency policy and procedure, the Nurse Educator provides support for and assists the Agency in meeting the objective of the Quality and Safety Department which includes but is not limited to development of and implementation of orientation and education programs for the staff and performance improvement activities.
Responsibilities:
Provides superior customer service to internal and external clients, customers and patients.
Develops, implements, evaluates, and redesigns an orientation program for all professional disciplines that is customer focused, competency based, quality outcome focused, and in compliance with all rules and regulations.
Implements and supports an orientation program for professional disciplines at the level of the learner.
Develops and provides educational programs for office and direct care professional staff that will improve individual and group performance.
Oversees the preceptor program, evaluates effectiveness, and suggests revisions as indicated by staff needs.
Tracks participation in orientation and ongoing educational programs.
Supports palm training on a back-up basis as needed.
Responsible for the development, implementation, and auditing of tools and systems for bench marking, forecasting, and planning, using OASIS/educational, and record review data.
Submits informational data to Director of Education monthly and as needed, based on educational and quality improvement activities.
Audits clinical records for appropriate utilization of services, quality outcome measurement, standards of practice and to ensure regulatory compliance.
Assists in reviewing admission charts, visit notes, recertification and discharge documentation to identify learning needs of staff to ensure compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
Responsible for joint visits, assessing OASIS, and rating reliability for educational and quality purposes.
Responsible for joint visits with newly oriented staff to educate and assess competency.
Acts as a resource to orientees throughout the orientation process, communicating and collaborating with supervisors.
Acts as a resource to clinical and office staff regarding clinical, insurance or billing issues.
Formulates and plans in collaboration with Directors/Managers, the identification of educational needs.
Participates in the development and implementation of processes to investigate Adverse Events and reports results to Directors/Managers/Staff.
Identifies trends and provides recommendations to the management team.
Coordinates annual competency sessions to ensure professional staff remain in compliance (eg. safety, licensure, TB testing, etc).
Represents the agency on committees, sharing and gathering appropriate information.
Collaborates with Directors/Managers to assess the performance and clinical competency of staff on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
Current RN licensure from the Board of Registration in Nursing, BSN preferred.
Demonstrated competence and satisfactory performance with direct patient care in a community health or medical/surgical setting for a minimum of three years.
Experience in quality management and utilization review preferred.
Possesses strong working knowledge of third party reimbursement as well as home health regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize computer technology.
Word processing and computer software experience required.
Demonstrated ability to cooperatively work in a team oriented environment.
Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
Demonstrates responsibility for self-direction.
Demonstrates effective communication skills.
Must be an organized and detail oriented individual possessing above average problem-solving skills.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
