Construction Coordinator 3

The purpose of this position is to be responsible for all phases of cable construction projects in a manner consistent with Time Warner Cable policies, procedures, quality work standards, customer needs, and applicable local, state and federal regulations. The Construction Coordinator will report on the status of construction projects and serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, project personnel, local and state government agencies and utility companies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Project assignments will include short and long term construction projects with associated timelines or multi phased schedules, including residential and multi dwelling projects, join trench, commercial construction, forced relocations, node splits, upgrades, etc. as well as Serviceability's, small plant extensions, cable replacements, apartment rewires, plant repairs, power supply replacements/upgrades, etc.
Demonstrates competence in all areas of Construction and cable plant and advanced specialized knowledge.
Completes field serviceability and site survey requests including cost estimates and submission of estimate to payer for reimbursement if applicable.
Prepare and complete various construction related paperwork and permits. This may include: interstate crossing permits, railroad crossing permits, pole attachment permits, strand map information, system designs, and purchase authorizations, in addition to various weekly and monthly construction reports.
Verify easements and obtain right-of-way agreements as applicable with system new build or rebuild.
Monitor actual material and labor spending against Project Authorizations and ensure accuracy of and approval of contractor invoices.
May partner with design center, various sales associates, building owners, developers, local and state municipalities regarding projects.
Prepares and completes any necessary weekly/monthly and field operation reports.
Works with technical operations regarding system acceptance guidelines and associated paperwork.
Authorize vendor invoices for materials and approved construction extensions.
Coordinate the construction activity with the contractor, ensuring all construction specifications, and safety guidelines are adhered to.
Interacts with design center, various sales associates, building owners, developers, local and state municipalities regarding projects.
Represent TWC at pre-construction and planning meetings.
Report all unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries in compliance with Time Warner procedures and FCC and OSHA regulations.
Daily Tasks Before Start of Construction:
Monitor the Sent to Construction queue in Salesforce for new jobs
Review the scope of work
Review design and confirm cost approval
Coordinate permitting and make ready process
Complete material orders needed
Issue the work order to the contractor or in house construction
Communicate with Access team for ROE
Perform job site visits and surveys as required
Daily Tasks During Construction:
Ensure projects are completed within designated parameters
Confirm contractors have access to the required locations and engage Access team when needed
Coordinate contractor COI approvals
Communicate with contractors and in-house foreman for updates on the status
Provide updates to the PMO teams
Manage redesign process immediate resolution and interaction between Survey, Design, and Construction
Respond to failed installs - immediate resolution and interaction between Survey, Design, and Construction
Re-engage departments as needed to expedite completion
Manage various process trackers
Auditing Production Reports
Update progress details DOCK and Salesforce
Perform site inspections for quality control as required throughout duration of project
Daily Tasks on Completion of Construction:
Request and review as-built, upload to DOCK
Perform site inspections for quality control
Review and verify contractor invoicing, communicate with contractor on discrepancies
Schedule and monitor work orders on the Splicing and Certification and the construction tracker
Update progress details DOCK and Salesforce
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Individuals should have at least 4-8 years of relevant field experience in CATV construction, service or plant maintenance, understanding of outside cable plant, basic mathematics, and city/county map reading.
Must have strong computer skills (MS Excel, Outlook, Word).
Knowledge of aerial and underground engineering/construction.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, working efficiently and effectively under deadlines.
Technically proficient in all aspects of fiber optic engineering, construction, and Splicing procedures.
Ability to organize and control inventories.
Working knowledge of OSHA and FCC regulations and specifications, supervision and office procedures.
Must possess a valid driver's license with good driving record.
Bilingual, preferred
EDUCATION LEVEL
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED) required.
Preferred 2 year Associate degree in electronics or related discipline.
Physical Requirements
This position involves both field and office work. Must be able to work in various weather conditions, which could be extreme hot or cold conditions.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Position will also involve sitting, standing, stooping, and/or crawling.
Ability to operate test equipment, hand tools, power tools. Such as Ohm meter, TDR, signal level meter, cable locator, screwdrivers, pliers, ladders, and two-way radio. May also operate aerial bucket trucks, air compressor and/or hydraulic winch.
Required to drive company vehicle and may drive for long periods of time.
Position has extensive contact with construction and technical personnel, including contractors, customers and general public.
