Engineering Software Developer
Job Purpose
In this role, you will work closely with product owners, design engineering and technical support to test, implement and deploy solutions to expand and maintain our product framework. Duties range from leading and contributing on product development efforts to diagnosing and troubleshooting escalated technical issues.

This position will support our Lubrication Equipment Division (LED) in Anoka, MN. Within LED industrial lubrication products are used in wind energy, general manufacturing, steel and mining industries (http://bit.ly/1jTCVMI) and petroleum management products control fluids traditionally used for servicing vehicles. Essential Duties
Participate in engineering tasks in the development of new products
Assist with system tests per plan to produce defect-free software
Provide technical support for production systems
Work with users to plan and develop detailed requirements
Provide analysis of design to applicable standards
Could be called upon to review instruction manuals and product literature related to software for safety reviews, etc
Work effectively in a team environment
Participate in release-for-sale activities
Provide periodic oral and written reports of project status
Willingness and desire to acquire and improve skills in new technologies through education and professional organizations
Direct and perform standard product support activities such as:
Troubleshooting product problems in manufacturing, lab, or customer sites
Initiating corrective action activities
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Education/Experience
BS in Computer Science or related field
Minimum of 2 years work related experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to implement, test and troubleshoot software updates
Java / Python programming language expertise
Proven ability to produce executable code per design and quality standards
Prior hands-on experience with SQL, Linux OS, Spring and RESTful APIs a plus
Ability to research, diagnose and respond to escalated customer issues
Ability to learn new technologies quickly and discuss concepts with less technical customers and colleagues
Ability to solve challenging problems by combining input from multiple sources and forming your own solution
Passion for customer success and doing what it takes to resolve customer issues
Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
Proven ability to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications
Experience providing technical support to external customers and representing the company
Ability and willingness to travel to support customers, if needed
