ABOUT THIS POSITION
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This specialized position focuses solely on the analysis & negotiation of bodily injury claims up to but not including litigation, that are assigned only after the initial coverage determination, property damage handling, and investigation are completed. Claim inventories are maintained at reasonable levels and primarily involve attorney-represented files with varying degrees of complexity.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND/OR SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Level I:
Internal Applicants:
Adjusters who have reached the Adjuster II level who have one (1) or more years of claims adjusting experience and have demonstrated proficiency in all areas of claims handling including the ability to perform routine activities with limited supervisory direction may be considered for the position.
External Applicants:
A minimum of one (1) year claims adjusting experience including experience with evaluation, negotiation and settlement of bodily injury claims. Claims experience may be substituted with a law degree and one year of civil litigation experience in an established practice.
Level II:
Internal Applicants:
1. Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Initial Action Adjuster II or six (6) months as a Continuing Action Adjuster I.
2. Demonstrated proficiency in all areas of claim handling including bodily injury.
3. Prior completion of Advanced BI class and the AEI Legal Law of Damages course and proficiency in the use of Colossus.
External Applicants:
1. Minimum of three (3) years of auto claim adjusting experience including experience with evaluation, negotiation and settlement of bodily injury claims.
2. Must complete Advanced BI, Colossus and AEI Law of Damages within one (1) year of assignment to position.
All Candidates (each level):
1.Ability to effectively handle claims via an on-line claims system
2. Must have excellent planning and organizing skills.
3. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Some positions may require specific
bilingual skills.
4. Must have the ability to deal with conflict in an effective manner.
5. Must possess on a timely basis all licenses required by the state(s) assigned and participate in state required continuing education courses.
