Project Engineer
Job Description :
Project Engineer / Technical Lead for Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) Projects. Duties include:
Manages the planning, design, engineering, manpower estimating, construction support, and commissioning (testing) of EPC projects for Renewable Energy pursuits, including biomass-to-liquid/biomass-to-power projects and ocean energy projects.
Gathers and reviews data concerning facility and/or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions (permits, environmental regulations, etc.), required completion date, and construction feasibility.
Coordinates team in developing design criteria and preparing layout, detail drawings and all construction deliverables.
Supports Business Development is assessment of potential pursuits, providing information on estimated plant performance, economics, space requirements, and schedule.
Prepares bid sheets, work packages and supports contract development for construction and acquisition.
Reviews and estimates design costs and estimates for equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
Inspects or directs the inspection of construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Develops and/or oversees development of commissioning plan and test protocols.
Basic Qualifications
Previous design engineering management and/or construction support experience
Previous experience with design of power projects and/or petrochemical projects
Proven budget management experience
Proven schedule development and implementation experience
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage change, identify issues, work with stakeholders to develop solutions
Demonstrated ability as team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with multiple customers
Desired skills
Experience with BioEnergy and/or Ocean Energy projects
Span of experience from conceptual engineering, detailed engineering thru construction, start-up, and commissioning
Previous experience as an Architectural/Engineering (A/E) contractor in any of the following areas: Civil/Structural, Chemical / Process, Electrical, Mechanical (HVAC, Equipment and Piping Expertise), or Control Systems
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in any of the following areas: Civil/Structural, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Control Systems
