Contribute to a multi-functional integration product development team engaged in radar system control design, development, simulation and specification. Specifically model and analyze performance of discrimination and tracking requirements for ballistic missile defense (BMD). Understand the radar system capabilities, threat capabilities, and characteristics of adverse environments. Utilize modeling and simulation as a method to implement and assess algorithm performance. Support the preparation of presentations for concepts and performance results at internal/external working groups, technical interchange meetings and customer reviews. Conduct requirements verification and integration & test in the lab. Develop data analysis tools, perform analysis of the data, troubleshoot and document anomalous system behaviors.
Basic Qualifications
Type of Degree: BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics or equivalent (MS preferred). Engineering experience in algorithm design development. Familiarity with techniques in pattern classification/recognition, data analytics, decision systems, and/or familiarity with predictive data filtering techniques (e.g. Kalman filters). Proficient in the use of Matlab and C+
or equivalent high level computing language. Strong communication skills, (written and verbal). Able to work independently or as a member of a team. Strong mathematics background in linear algebra, statistical analysis and signal processing. Demonstrated experience in algorithm development, troubleshooting, analysis, and one or more of the following areas: sensor (radar) system analysis, design, modeling, simulation, integration, test. Must be able to obtain & maintain a secret security clearance. Obtaining a secret clearance requires US citizenship.
Desired skills
Expertise in Signal Processing, image processing techniques, and modeling signal processing operations. Experience performing trades studies, requirements development - analysis, derivation, allocation, and documentation, engineering design as well as software development processes and Systems and software modeling such as Agile and Model Based System Design. Experience with requirements verification in a lab environment including troubleshooting, and integration & test. Familiarity with solid state antenna design. Familiarity with design, tools and environments for radar systems and subsystems for performance analysis and modeling. Familiarity with computer architectures, system security, embedded systems and algorithm development for a range of system/subsystem applications. Strong leadership, administrative and, interpersonal skills.
