Job Description
Inspector must review engineering drawings and customer specifications to make sure parts in electrical systems and equipment such as control panels and cables are assembled correctly. They also look for defects in wiring such as frayed or cracked wires or loose connections. Inspectors use devices such as meters to make sure motors, generators, lighting and refrigeration systems will correctly and safely operate. Complete inspection reports highlighting their findings by hand and or computer documentation. They must ensure electrical devices meet the requirements of government electrical standards and codes. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and must be detail-oriented. Must have a thorough understanding of electricity, electronics and related codes. They must be self-directed, able to work independently and able to manage time well.
Audit and monitor quality requirements in accordance with the company quality assurance policies and customer specifications. Responsible for quality data entry of metrics and charts. Will be responsible for assisting and training employees in inspection procedures. Conduct inspections at First Article, in-process, in-coming and completes the final inspections. Initiate Non-Conformance reports as required. Input and perform trending of key inspection process metrics. Document and report inspection findings and results and monitors corrective actions to inspection findings. Read and interpret specifications and part prints. Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on inspection equipment. Work with other company personnel to resolve inspection questions. Communicate with engineers to ensure schematics are in compliance with the final product. Train staff in quality assurance techniques. Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management. Conduct various tests and quality checks on finished products. Insure that all products have been tested and fall within standards, measured to specifications and within tolerances, readability of labels, etc. Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations. Responsible for pressure testing and evacuation tests on all equipment.
Qualifications
Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Entry Level.Proven ability to read Work Orders. Experienced with electrical standards, attention to detail, good problem solving skills. Effective communication skills. Able to work flexible hours and over-time when required.
