Description
The Senior Project Engineer / Lead Project Engineering position will support new product development for residential compressor platforms. This position will be responsible for the evaluation, maturation and development of new design technologies to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and improve reliability, with primary focus on implementing those concepts into production. In addition, they will provide engineering direction and execution of projects while working in a team-orientated environment with local and global Emerson project teammates.
Responsibilities
Apply Lean/Perfect Execution principals and techniques to the New Product Development process.
Develop test procedures for new products.
Support internal and external customers by communicating technical data / specs for products.
Build test plans and coordinate with lab staff for accurate, timely execution.
Guiding other engineers through development calculators.
Apply high degree of independent knowledge to lead cross functional efforts in technical problem solving.
Additional Information
Travel: 5-10%
Requirements
Basic:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar major plus five (5) years of relevant industry experience
Excellent presentation, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Project management experience
Preferred:
Prefer seven (7) years of relevant experience
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Experience with and high level of understanding of stage-gate product development process
Prior experience with customer interactions
Experience working with and/or implementing lean techniques into the product development process
