The EHS Manager is a key member of the Sylmar Manufacturing plant management staff and participates in key business strategic initiatives, quality initiatives, community communications, and focused efforts with various steering committees. The EHS Manager is responsible for leading and managing the facility Environment, Health and Safety process in accordance with the Aerospace business unit and the PPG Corporate EHS strategy.
Proactively works towards improving safety performance through developing, implementing EHS programs and processes according to the Aerospace SBU and Corporate guidelines and monitor progress using leading safety performance indicators.
Provides leadership, direction and training to ensure a safe and healthful workplace for employees while ensuring compliance with applicable environmental, healthy, & safety laws and regulations to minimize current and future liabilities.
Evaluates site equipment, systems and work procedures and recommends effective procedures for safe use.
Assists in preparing required environmental reports in accordance with Federal, State, and Corporate requirements/regulations.
Develops, reviews, and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Acts as an active member of the facility Emergency Response Team and Incident Command structure.
Oversees activities of incident investigation, root cause analysis, ergonomic (office and manufacturing), 6S, and site safety teams.
Organizes and maintains the various required EH&S training programs including OSHA, RCRA, and emergency response.
Oversees all environmental issues in the areas of air, water, and waste.
Leads Storm Water Pollution Prevention Team as well as understand the requirements for annual reporting.
Interfaces with outside agency inspectors in the area of Waste Water, Storm Water, AQMD, CUPA, and EPA officials.
Maintains and promotes measures to prevent any significant adverse effect on PPG employees (TSCA), customers, general population, or the environment and will comply with all applicable laws and regulations relating to PPG's Corporate EH&S Policy relating to Safety and the Environment.
Prepares site EH&S reports and must submit to various agencies in a timely manner.
Coordinates review, approval, and procurement of site PPE
Complies with Environmental, Health, & Safety requirements and procedures at all times.
Performs other tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Safety and Occupational Health or relevant technical discipline required.
Minimum 10 years' experience in related safety activities.
Preferred Experience and Certifications:
DOT/IATA certified in order to sign hazardous waste manifests preferred
Master's degree in a Safety and Occupational Health or related technical discipline.
A CSP and/or CIH certification is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of Title V permitting and SCAQMD rules and regulations is a plus.
Excellent communication, analytical, and PC skills are critically important.
Ability to function in complex and ever changing environment which demands timely response to numerous critical issues is required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
