Culture & Climate Specialist/Restorative Justice Coordinator

The Culture & Climate Specialist/Restorative Justice Coordinator will assist the site principal in developing a healthy school community and culture of College for Certain, including student life and community relations, in accordance with Aspire standards. This position will work proactively with students to eliminate conflicts, discipline, and behavior situations with a student-centered, restorative approach modeling these processes for school based staff. Special consideration will be paid toward collaboration with teachers and administrators to support schools in creating restorative climates for students, teachers, and staff. The Culture and Climate Specialist will provide coaching and professional development to school staff around the integration of Restorative Justice practices into the school site, in addition to serving as a thought partner for school administration around creating effective and student-centered behavior and discipline systems. The Culture and Climate Specialist must be firmly rooted in Restorative Justice values, passionate about working in underserved communities and the micro community in which the school site exists, and will see her/himself as an educator, counselor, community organizer, and entrepreneur to mobilize and inspire others around the common goal of improved student outcomes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
Create, implement and managing of behavioral, academic and/or social-emotional programs at all the schools
Provide leadership in developing a strong College for Certain culture, including: overseeing school norms and rituals such as Town Halls; developing student mediation and conflict resolution programs; and assisting Principal with setting, implementing and enforcing policies related to student discipline.
Oversee activities related to student life, including coordinating athletics and extracurricular activities.
Oversee school student-sponsored events such as dances and fund-raisers.
Manage school relationships with outside entities providing student before and after-school activities.
Assist Principal with setting, implementing and enforcing Aspire policies related to student participation in advisory and extracurricular activities.
Help Principals represent the school site in building an effective school community, including: working with parents to better serve students; garnering support from community groups and leaders; and developing positive relationships with sponsoring district and neighborhood schools; creating and implementing and extended behavioral support program.
Assist in managing selected academic programs as assigned. May coordinate or manage site-specific activities of site or Home Office staff, such as College Admissions Manager, Advisors, and Internship Coordinator.
Assist in managing daily operations, facilities, safety, and administrative processes as assigned.
May supervise other school site staff, such as campus supervisors or front office team
Lead projects as discussed with principal, including long-term strategic planning, process improvement, cycle of inquiry-driven instructional improvements, operational improvement, charter renewal, or any other projects required at the school site.
Work in collaboration with Principal and Home Office to achieve site and organizational goals.

Experience with management and administration, including demonstrated knowledge of Aspire procedures and policies related to students
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively and interact effectively with different audiences
Excellent organization, time management and follow-up skills; high sense of urgency; demonstrated ability to successfully handle multiple projects concurrently; ability to work as a team

2) Minimum educational level:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work or Human Development; Masters in education preferred
3) Experience required:
2-5 years with direct service with youth, teaching, or related experience.
Experience working with the diverse groups of people including students, parents, teachers, school administration and business partner

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
