The main responsibility is to deliver and maintain Control Systems that meet Production s requirements, perform as necessary to achieve functionality and safety obligations, and maximize system capability. This includes the leadership of the system migration and lifecycle process, maintenance recommendation and oversight of installed base equipment, membership on key control systems-related teams, and coordination of concepts with the Production Technologist. You Will Manages all control systems in a specific area Contribute oversight of control system critical spare parts. Responsible for lifecycle status, develop diagnosis concepts, and conduct periodic health checks of installed base control systems. Develop and maintain long-term control system migration plans for the assigned plant with the Production Technologist, Specialists, and Technicians. Serve as a subject matter expert in Advanced Process Control and as a resource for any area Model Predictive Control systems. Track Total Cost of Ownership for control systems, including monitoring failures, assisting in initial hardware installations, maintenance contract tracking and communication, optimizing software version upgrades, and vendor liaison issues such as quick fixes for system problems and virus protection. Assign and record all I/O points in the area by maintaining a master record. Act as SIS Responsible Engineer, including maintaining all required documentation for the SIS system. Provide expert support for the control systems in a specific area. Perform advanced control and graphic configuration on systems in an assigned area beyond the capabilities of the technicians and specialists. Maintain a collaborative relationship with the Production Team, the Global Procurement Verbund Team, and participate in Peer Working Groups. Understand plant-specific requirements and control systems, and provide technical expertise for systems and communications protocols used on-site such as Simocode for Motor Control Systems, Profibus and Modbus for field instrumentation systems, OPC communications systems, and wireless communications. Lead and/or coordinate root cause failure analysis on significant failures; implement corrective actions for control system issues. Maintain the master plan on assigned areas Control Systems (DCS, PLC and SIS) while ensuring system compliance with corporate standards. Preserve all logic documentation for the production area for both instrument technicians and production technician, including INtools updates as required. Develop and ensure maintenance of a database of key advanced process control installations in their area and help ensure its functionality and sustainability. Communicate issues or concerns with the Production Engineers. Maintain manuals (SOP) for every system in the production areas. Responsible for standardization and quality of control configurations and graphics. Organize and facilitate technology and best practice sharing exchanges between control systems vendors, production technologists, and their support functions to allow the performance of the control systems and their associated activities to function at their highest level. This position will own, maintain, and communicate all best practices documents. Support capital projects in area requiring interface to control systems throughout conception, design, implementation, and commissioning. Participate on the site Instrument and Controls Peer Working Group. Ensure appropriate preventive maintenance is completed on all control systems in assigned area. What We Look for in You Bachelor s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline. A minimum of 7 years of experience in chemical/petrochemical plant automation, and at least 5 years in Industrial Control Systems support. Strong knowledge and experience with various types of DCS and PLC equipment and software. Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills combined with knowledge and experience to provide technical guidance. Networking and database experience is preferable, as well as SAP/R3 knowledge. Familiarity with the Honeywell DCS platform, and configuration experience in the Honeywell Batch Platform, is strongly desired. Sound knowledge of Honeywell Experion Batch, Triconex/Hima and/or Allan Bradley PLC is a plus. This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U. S. Department of Homeland Security.
