Desktop Systems Engineer I/II
Under regular supervision of the Manager of Desktop Engineering and IT Projects, the Desktop Systems Engineer is responsible for providing an advanced level of technical expertise in the design, central management and support of a comprehensive desktop environment of 5000
enterprise workstations. This includes Project Management, design, implementation and support of the distributed printing environment, published application, software distribution infrastructure and security of the desktop platform. This person provides our highest level off technical support in our Desktop environment, taking the necessary steps to isolate, diagnose, research and resolve issues.
Minimum Requirements:
Education/
Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Computer Science required
High school diploma with an additional 2 years of experience may be considered
Experience:
2 years experience supporting desktop infrastructure required.
1 year experience working in the healthcare industry preferred.
Licensure/Certificates:
Current NYS Driver's license required.
Epic Workstation certification required within 6 months from date of hire
Citrix Certified Administrator required within 6 months from date of hire
Skills:
Proficient in the use and support of desktop systems.
Solid understanding of desktop hardware technologies
Solid understanding of operating system technologies
Solid understanding of distributed computing environment
Solid understanding of project management processes
Ability to provide technical leadership and guidance for the desktop technicians
Ability to set and manage priorities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with diverse group of people within the organization that have varying degrees of technical experience.
Strong technical aptitude

Must be able to lift, transport and install PCs and related equipment
