Researcher - Cancer Epidemiology

The Department ofOccupational Medicine, Epidemiology & Prevention is developing apopulation-based cancer research program and is recruiting a cancerepidemiologist, in the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, who preferablyhas experience in studying early detection and/or prognostic biomarkers for cancer.The researcher will apply for funding, perform investigative research in theareas of cancer epidemiology, and publish and present data and results. The researcher will also be involved in teaching and mentoring in epidemiology
Responsibilities Includes:
Designs, develops and implements cancer-focused epidemiological studies both independently, and in collaboration with other Health System departments.
Prepares and submits grant applications to external sponsors to obtain research funding.
Submits manuscripts and abstracts for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presentation at scientific conferences.
Develops curriculum, teaches epidemiology, and mentors students at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine and/or the Hofstra Masters of Public Health (MPH) program.
Provides epidemiological consultation to the Health System and medical school, if necessary.
Performs related duties, as required.
ADA Essential Functions

Doctorate Degree in Epidemiology, required.
Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, required.
Has experience in molecular epidemiology, required.
Strong statistical/analytic skills using software packages such as SAS, Stata, R, or SPSS, required.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, required.
Strong written and oral communication skills, required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
