POSITION PURPOSE: The Operations Manager will manage and be responsible for ensuring corporate and contractual service levels and the facilitation of a continuous improvement effort that supports a hyper-growth e-commerce driven business experience that delights our Australian customers. In the start-up phase of the Australian Operation, this role will be instrumental in setting up the Sales Support Team and ensuring a fully functional operation.
Order Management Oversight
The manager will plan, direct and monitor Australian 3PL warehousing, distribution and co-packing activities for our Australian market with the primary focus on managing and maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPI's). The position will support warehousing and logistics personnel, warehousing logistics related systems, and direct daily and tactical logistics operations. Trouble shoot order management across multiple touch points and internal and external partners, including testing, co-packing, and order management approach. Manage issues across multiple partners including the importer of record, the co-packer, the distribution center, the manufacturer, and R+F. Lean in and act as the project manager who solves issues and creates sustainable fixes across all partners.
Supplier Management
Service Levels, Quality and Value will be the drivers to meeting and exceed our customer's expectation through industry best-practices, metrics, and development of win-win relationship with internal and external customers and partners. The position supports Supply Chain, Quality Control, Sales Support, Marketing, Product Development, and Finance. The position will validate inbound, outbound logistics and warehousing cost/expenses. Own and manage the supplier relationship with the importer and co-packing vendor. Negotiate contract requirements and define measurable service level expectations. Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to give performance feedback and to build continuous improvement expectations.
Process Management
Review and document all existing processes. Work with all partners to build process improvements and define service level expectations across partners. Coordinate the feedback loop of performance management across all parties and drive measurable continuous improvement. Report out to senior leaders on progress quarterly.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Programmatically drive a continuous improvement effort with our Australian 3PL DC and co-packing/carrier partners to focus on service, quality, and efficiencies that lead to mutual cost and process improvement
Will identify ways to enhance, improve effective and efficient 3PL processes and scalability in a rapidly growing and evolving environment
Identify and drive new strategies to track, measure and analyse movement of products/ materials for more efficient e-commerce driven high volume transactions
Focus on possible systems driven improvements that enhance the flow of volume orders to our distributed DC
Lead and manage Australia Warehousing/Logistics activities in any and all related distribution and logistics related activities; i.e. Shipments from manufacturers, suppliers, co-packers and or warehouses
Manage, maintain and analyse warehousing metrics reporting for Operational and Warehousing world class efficiencies. I.e. Labor Resource Reporting, 3PL metric measurements, etc
Perform other duties as required to achieve departmental and Company objectives
Provide support for the Support Sales Support team and technical responsibility for phones and Computers
Be a back-up for the Sales Support Manager when required/approved
Qualifications:
Experienced in relevant process and domain. He/she should possess solid knowledge and understanding of working with 3PL partners and freight forwarders in B2C /e-commerce operational environment
Solid project/program management skills
Experience with NICNAS: regulations and testing requirements
Related Work
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in a 3PL Management role in the warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, material handling, or related production environment
Candidate should demonstrate leadership, mentorship, and be hands on, be flexible, be willing to wear many hats
Must possess ability to work in a fast-paced high-growth environment.
Based in Norwest with the ability to travel occasionally
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Warehousing/ Logistics Management or equivalent working experience
Other Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Understanding of MRP, ERP, inventory management, warehouse management and shop floor control systems
Goal Oriented. Focus on the business goals that have been outlined for the sourcing relationship
