General Manager
About the Position
This assignment will be responsible for, but not limited to, functions pertaining to the day-to-day operations and long term planning, communication, execution, monitoring and maintenance of strategic initiatives for Safety, Efficiency and Quality improvement programs throughout the organization at the Exxon Mobile Distribution Centers in Romeoville, IL area. The location consists of shipping / receiving and packaging of lubricants and bottled oil products at a 350k sq. ft. warehouse space.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Directs and coordinates activities of site management and personnel to ensure compliance with executive management and site standard operating procedures, personnel policies and workload leveling.
Responsible for long-term planning and strategic initiatives.
Actively pursues new customer opportunities and new business development.
Implements and drives initiatives such as KQMS, KCMS, KFMS, and EIP.
Continual focus on customer service through establishing resources and requirements for handling customer property as documented in customer contracts, performing verification of meeting planned results through feedback and customer communications and determining appropriate actions as to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Responsible for driving EIP program to ensure it is being executed correctly in order to maximize benefits.
Responsible for all safety, operations, quality, financial, legal and regulatory functions executed on site.
Responsible for site metrics associated with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Business Improvement Plans, Efficiency Programs, and Profit and Loss (P&L) indices subsequent data analysis to develop reports for interpretation and communication for the customer, and site personnel.
Closely monitors operation to ensure processes comply with SOX requirements.
Ensures communication and feedback for site and customer relations, including management review.
Provide coaching and mentoring to site management and personnel in support of bench strength to ensure sustainability of the business and facility.
Attend training, meetings and seminars for professional growth as approved by executive management.
Enforce safety and security policies and regulations.
Support and encourage good housekeeping practices.
Misc. tasks as assigned by Director of Operations.
Qualifications

Education/Relevant Experience
Bachelor degree (B.A. / B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Negotiating and sales skills are essential. Knowledge of forklift and material handling equipment is necessary. Knowledge of ISO/QS quality standards, cost management, process flow analysis, and task scheduling a plus. MS Office and WMS experience required.
Communication Skills
Ability to communicate effectively concepts required for daily business activities to meet planned results. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Additional Skills
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
