JOB
Summary:
The Temporary Chemist operates instrumentation in the laboratory to determine the quality and/or quantify raw materials and finished goods. Responsible for following all safety policies, Standard Operation Procedures, and Airgas Specialty Gases Riverton work rules. Must be willing to work various shifts as required within the department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Operates within the Riverton Laboratory in accordance with Airgas Specialty Gases Riverton standard work procedures and Airgas Standard Operation Procedures.
Must follow all Safecor and ASG safety policies.
Perform routine lab analysis and laboratory documentation.
Perform calibration of laboratory equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs for analytical equipment as needed.
Assist with investigation of off specs and Corrective Action Tracking System (CATS).
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in chemistry or related field
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
COMMUNICATION and/or CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.
