The Sr. Clinical Content Specialist - Infectious Diseases works collaboratively within the team to critically review and evaluate scientific, clinical and product literature in order to create new and revise existing core pharmacology content. Has an expertise and command of antibiotic prescribing for treatment of a wide variety of infectious diseases. This expertise can be used in both referential and embedded databases. Will participate in the identification, drafting, and review process for new and/or updated pharmacology information. May participate in and/or review the transformation of referential content into defined data structures for embedded datasets. May also be required to establish and maintain communication with consultants, contributors, editors and authors in a collaborative manner. Participate in the process of product design, improvement, and new product implementation. Create and maintain proprietary knowledge base to support the publication of WK- Clinical Solutions CDI datasets (as used in Facts & Comparisons, Lexi-Drugs, and Medi-Span).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for creating and revising high quality monographs consistent with the format and structure of the database. Develops, reviews, and edits new written descriptions of drugs and drug products. Synthesizes discussion of pharmacologic and therapeutic issues in a clear, concise, and accurate manner. Maintains consistency within the database with respect to the wording of concepts within and among drug classes.
Submits work for collaborative peer review and responds appropriately to comments and criticisms. As a member of the team, critically, professionally, and thoroughly reviews the work of others to prompt improvements in clarity, accuracy, and accessibility to information across the spectrum of healthcare providers. Identifies and corrects omissions or errors in the drafts.
Responsible for maintaining the proprietary database and enriching database content through the incorporation of medical literature, guideline statements and prescribing information discovered by surveillance and literature review. Incorporates unique and enriching content to database with the objective of making WK-CDI content an industry leader.
Achieves productivity by consistently meeting deadlines as defined in the Content Priority Policy and by meeting departmental and individual goals.
Actively participates in the process of redesign and/or supplementation of the database structure. Works within the group and with other departments to establish new formats and to re-structure current information, where and when appropriate. Responds promptly to marketing and sales feedback (when appropriate) to introduce new information and/or concepts into the database.
Maintains a high degree of job knowledge via reading, attendance at professional meetings/educational conferences, and other activities (eg, teaching, research discussions, etc.). Continually develops and refines writing skills.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with authors, contributors, editors and consultants. Cultivate and maintain relationships with individuals in specialty areas that can help improve WK-CDI content. Effectively facilitates obtaining consultant input by monitoring work flow and ensuring consultant responsiveness.
Facilitates the publication process. Maintains a close familiarity with applicable products and representations of data on all relevant platforms to help further improve the utility of the database. Acts as a liaison between editors, contributors and production in the publication of print and electronic representations of WK-CDI data to ensure successful publication.
Provides a high level of customer service by offering customer and client support on an as needed basis, as well as responds in a timely and accurate manner to queries regarding WK-CDI data and/or publication processes. Works with other departments and authors to improve data/products and their appeal to selected segments of the market as requested. Provides assistance and cross-education among clinical team/content members, and functional teams (eg, sales, marketing, accounting, IT).
Produces timely and accurate reports. Participates in the collection of data regarding updates (source, nature of update, and timing of response/integration) and reliably maintains data in existing workflow tools. Facilitates the documentation and reporting of errors per corporate policy.

Qualifications: Education:
PharmD with Infectious Disease expertise
Minimum
Experience:
3 years of clinical experience in infectious disease. Infectious disease residency.
Board certification in pharmacotherapy or a specific sub-specialty is desirable

Minimum:
Pharmacy License
Proficient in Microsoft suite including Excel and Word.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
10% travel within the United States via car and air to conferences and CDI office sites.
