POSITION SUMMARY
The Strategy Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing and prioritizing strategies for West Health Institute collaborative research projects. Focus will be entirely on opportunities to improve healthcare delivery for the elderly population. Key functions will include identifying potential partners, understanding key market forces, preparing analysis, and working with internal teams to advance our research objectives and activities.
Position Responsibilities
Work across cross-functional West Health teams to create and prioritize strategic research initiatives, including facilitation of collaborator teams
Clearly articulate how research outcomes will create momentum with health plan or health policy stakeholders
Identify and define opportunities to work with regional or national health plans on research pilots
Identify opportunities to integrate key health policy trends into research projects
Become internal expert on key areas of senior healthcare (e.g., palliative care, caregivers)
Monitor markets, industries and organizations of potential strategic interest (e.g., advocacy organizations, other non-profits, health systems, etc.)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
7
years of health care experience; Experience in health care delivery or health plan organization preferred
Analytical and strategic thinking skills
Ability to quickly learn a new market and identify key external stakeholders
Preferred experience with Accountable Care Organizations ACO, risk based contracts, shared savings, as well as fee for service arrangements
Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to present ideas creatively and with impact
Ability to interact and collaborate with all levels of management and cross-functional teams
Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset with the ability to influence and lead others
Ability to perform under pressure and in a very dynamic environment with a high degree of initiative and motivation
