Manufacturing Production Manager - (University Park, IL)

JOB SUMMARY :
This is a Production Manager position supporting the Lean Production efforts of existing and new products. Utilize engineering lean best practices to provide all aspects of production from concept, design verification, production, and testing to field start-up. Responsible for meeting customer s functional and performance requirements for specialty vehicles, mobile welding and testing equipment serving global markets.
Job Duties and Tasks
Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.
Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status.
Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
Communicate with management and user personnel to develop production and design standards.
Estimate production cost and effect of product design changes for management review, action, and control.
Formulate sampling procedures and designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
Record or oversee recording of information to ensure currency of engineering drawings and documentation of production problems.
Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.
Direct workers engaged in product measurement, inspection, and testing activities to ensure quality control and reliability.
Implement methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and defective or damaged parts, and assess cost and responsibility.
Evaluate precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment and engineering drawings to formulate corrective action plan.
Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization.
Complete production reports, purchase orders, and material, tool, and equipment lists.
Schedule deliveries based on production forecasts, material substitutions, storage and handling facilities, and maintenance requirements.
Regulate and alter workflow schedules according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times to expedite production operations.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs with our without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Willingness to wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed boots) as required.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Office/cubicle environment.
Shop environment including welding, overhead cranes and fork trucks.
Field on-track environment in all weather conditions
QUALIFICATIONS :
Relevant 4 year College degree (Industrial Supervision) or experience
4-5 years of experience in structural, mechanical, and hydraulic areas of machine design.
Be aware of Lean production concepts.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be committed to customer service.
Able to work to demanding deadlines.
Work effectively as team member or leader.
Ability to facilitate and make decisions.
Work with a sense of urgency.
Knowledge of FMEA, Lean practices, Six Sigma and Value Engineering.
FEA experience is a plus.
Detail oriented.
Self-motivated.
Hydraulic system design / troubleshooting experience.
Design experience in heavy machinery.
Must maintain a valid passport.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
