Position Description:
Builds goodwill and fosters relationships with community leaders in the greater Seattle area. Serves as a key point of contact for local businesses, institutions, elected officials and residents to ensure that New Seasons Market is regarded as a valued neighbor in the communities we serve. Represents the company at meetings of neighborhood associations, chambers of commerce, city councils and other key associations and partners. Provides public relations support in the Seattle market and consistently communicates the organization's culture and values.
Duties and Responsibilities

Position Specific Functions
Builds goodwill and fosters relationships with community leaders before, during and after opening stores in new neighborhoods. Serves as a key point of contact for local businesses, institutions, elected officials and residents to ensure we are a valued neighbor to the communities we serve.
Regularly attends meetings of neighborhood associations, chambers of commerce, city councils and other key associations and partners. Communicates and reinforces organizational culture and values.
Proactively monitors and reports on social, political and community trends and issues. Anticipates and resolves issues and obstacles.
Provides public relations and public affairs support in coordination with Social Responsibility and Marketing teams.
Plans, coordinates and participates in community/neighborhood events.
Partners with local Community Coordinators to ensure consistent implementation of programs and sharing of best practices.
Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
Facilities, Work Safety and Food Safety
Adheres to work and food safety policies set forth by the company and regulatory agencies.
Contributes to all-office cleanliness.
Maintains equipment; informs department/office management of any problems.
Reports all safety concerns and work related injuries to management.

Qualifications and Experience
Associates Degree or equivalent experience required.
Proven relationship builder/networker within the greater Seattle community.
Advanced understanding of civic and community engagement with emphasis on diversity and equity issues and practices.
Experience in public relations and public affairs practices and principles.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, including listening, and public speaking.
Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English. Fluency in additional languages a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required, especially Excel and Power Point.
High degree of professionalism, maturity and patience.
Ability to work collaboratively and productively with others of diverse academic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Comfortable navigating sensitive or complex political situations and in dealing gracefully in difficult situations.
Experience planning and executing events.
Self-motivated and directed, with ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Friendly and service oriented, with an interest community building and a commitment to New Seasons Market mission, vision and values.
Ability to maintain confidentiality around sensitive information.
Ability to work a flexible schedule (some evenings/weekends may be required.)
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required, with ability to travel regularly throughout Seattle metro area.
Physical Requirements
Light work level
Prolonged sitting in car or office.
Consistently required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, reach, push and pull, twist and turn, and grasp. This may require fine finger manipulations.
Occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment
Office environment and traveling to and from business, government and community meeting sites.
Typically maintains a moderate noise level.
May include working in areas with exposure to dust, mold, gluten, fragrances and other fumes and airborne particles, fresh fruits, vegetables, house plants, and flowers or in in refrigerated areas and on surfaces that can be wet and slippery.
Occasionally working near and using common commercial cleaning agents.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
