Description Position Purpose: Responsible for the prepping of merchandise in an efficient and safe manner. Further responsibilities include assisting the Shipping Supervisor in directing, assigning work, and preparing daily records.
Essential
Responsibilities:
1. Directing, assigning work to, training, monitoring policy compliance and providing thorough and accurate performance evaluation input on Prep employees.
2. Preparing and submitting records and reports in a timely and accurate manner.
3. Ensuring that all required tasks of the Prep team are completed in a safe and efficient manner.
4. Reporting problems and concerns to the Shipping Supervisor in a timely and thorough manner.
5. Protecting company assets from misuse or damage and ensuring proper maintenance of company equipment and tools.
6. Pulling and prepping merchandise for delivery to our customer's homes.
7. Processing merchandise through computer system.
8. Assisting Shipping Manager when the Shipping supervisor is not available.
9. Attendance in compliance with our Absence/Tardy policy is an essential responsibility of this position.
Requirements
Qualifications:
1. Must be familiar with Warehouse procedures, policies, safety considerations, goals and objectives.
2. Must be able to use power tools properly (e.g., drills, hammers, utility knife, sockets, pliers, and wrenches).
3. Must be able to safely and efficiently drive a tugger, pallet jack or lift.
4. Must be able to see, hear, stand, walk lift and carry (i.e., merchandise weighing up to 60 lbs. about 40% of the time and over 60 lbs. about 30% of the time).
5. Must be able to exercise caution and strict adherence to safety policies and procedures.
6. Must have hand/eye coordination and must be accurate.
7. Must have outstanding leadership skills.
