JOB SUMMARY
According to established procedures cleans and maintains an assigned area of the hospital in a sanitary, orderly and attractive condition.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Total patient room cleaning following established procedures.
- Moves equipment and furniture for relocation, cleaning and rearrangement.
- Trash removal and recycling. May collect hazardous/medical waste.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
Prior experience performing cleaning operations in a hospital, industrial or office setting, with minimum three months training preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Medium work:
exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally; up to 25 pounds of force frequently; under 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Ability to assist in moving heavy objects, such as desks and file cabinets.
Ability to be fully mobile on steps and ladders.
Ability to work from a crouched or bent over position.
Ability to adapt to repetitive procedures.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Work in an environment where there is limited physical discomfort due to noise, heat, dust, chemical fumes and the like. Works with chemicals that are potentially harmful if proper precautions are not used.
