Software Developer II
Software Developer II (Overstock.com, Inc., Midvale, UT)
Multiple openings available. Use strong communication (verbal and written) skills to work closely with a team of developers to build highly reliable systems that can handle significant loads. Review and document existing application code. Provide maintenance support and enhance performance to existing application code. Perform new application development including initial design and evaluation for work load to give estimated work duration. Perform code clean-up and automation of development tasks. Use strong communication skills to interface with product owners for requirements gathering. Define functional design for requirements implementation. Write code and unit tests for each logic function. Perform critical systems development, database structure definition and Integration with legacy data & applications. Provide support for test/production issues and solutions for existing production performance issues.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics or a related field, plus 3 years of experience working on software development. Must also have the following:
any experience building web services (including using the REST style); any experience programming in Java and SQL; any experience programming in Javascript, HTML or CSS; any experience using Maven or GIT/SVN. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master's degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics or a related field, plus 1 year of experience working on software development. Must also have the following:
