Summary:
Kyowa Kirin Pharmaceutical Research, Inc., a dynamic BioPharma organization engaged in the discovery of novel therapeutics for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Associate with demonstrated technical and analytical competence in molecular biology and protein chemistry to support early stage drug discovery efforts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may also be assigned).
Designs, constructs and applies expression vectors for production of recombinant proteins and antibodies with limited direction from supervisor.
Independently designs experiments and analyzes routine and complex data from a wide variety of laboratory techniques and analytic instrumentation.
-Molecular Biology:
molecular design and cloning (restriction digestion, ligase-dependent and -independent cloning), PCR, RT-PCR, primer design, nucleic acid sequence analysis.
-Protein production:
transient and stable mammalian protein expression (production up to 5 L scale), bacterial protein production.
-Cellular biology:
generation of stable mammalian cell lines, in vitro cell line and primary cell assays.
-Assays/techniques:
ELISA, western blot, flow cytometry (1-4 color)
-Skilled with molecular cloning software (Lasergene DNASTAR or other), FlowJo and Excel; familiar with PowerPoint
-Experienced with antibody structure, design and engineering is an advantage.
Effectively manages multiple tasks at the same time to produce quality results in timely manner. Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals.
Maintains accurate records in lab notebooks.
Organizes and communicates results in timely manner. Independently prepares data summaries and presents them at project meetings.
Participates on cross-functional teams.Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Immunology or Molecular Biology or a related field and 5 years or more of relevant experience.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
